Every combination skin dreams of a truce between oily T-zone and dry cheeks. The reality of combination is tough, we know it. While you’re wondering how did your nose pores become that large, your nose corners are flaky and there is a patch between your eyebrows. Nothing you do seems to satisfy both sides: creams that make your cheeks chubby and glowy wreak havoc on your forehead. That velvety feeling over your cheeks (oh, nice and soft!) is left by ingredients that are simply a no-go for your T-zone. Sooner than you expect, your T-zone is greasier and bumpier, announcing things are going to go wild (and pimples may pay you a visit). Try using a gel-based moisturizer instead and the effects are disappointing: your oily zone is fine, but the dry areas are barely holding up together. And that sticky gel feeling is, just, well, noooo. You can still buy two creams and apply them on the different areas of the face, but that’s twice the investment, right?
That’s why we at Honeysu were so excited to try Blithe Crystal Iceplant Pressed Serum. First, we love serums. Second, beauty addicts must give anything with an impressive formula a try. Could Blithe Pressed Serum meet the needs of combi (and ultra-moody) skin? We had high hopes, but we didn’t know it would blow our minds!
Let’s start with the concept: pressed serum. One word, intriguing. Is it just a cool way to rename a cream? K-beauty has a flair for elaborate names, so at first sight the product did come across as a cream. But that’s the thing, it isn’t. It isn’t just a cream because the concentration of super marvelous ingredients is simply too haute culture. As much as 63% of this formula is pure iceplant extract and that’s the kind of thing you’re more likely to find in serums rather than in creams.
At Honeysu, we are total suckers for natural ingredients and rule out stuff that we know is likely to cause irritation. The rest of the ingredient list is as gorgeous as the frosted jar it comes in. No meaningful acne triggers or irritants. See the Cosdna profile here. It was is wow. Wooow.

For someone who is always testing a dozen of products, I must say it's hard for me to go through a whole jar. But I went through Blithe Crystal Iceplant Pressed Serum in record time: my skin couldn't get enough of it. The first thing that made me fall in love for this product was how it melted in contact with my face and offered a cooling sensation without any greasiness. It felt as a skin balm and my skin accepted it very, very well. The texture reminds me of a gel, but it is really a thing on its own because it somehow fluid too. Sure we all need hydration, but everyone wants more than that. The brightening effects proportionated by this pressed serum truly won me over. I applied this as the last step of my skincare routine, but sometimes followed with a lotion if the weather was excessively dry. That's the beauty of a pressed serum, it's versatile. I'm sure I could have simply applied a more generous layer to have it double as a full-strength moisturizer, but, hey, I'm a product curator (gotta test'm all).
During the past 2 months when I consistently applied this cream day and night, my skin was visibly clearer and signs of redness were significantly reduced. No dryness, no oiliness, and no acne breakouts. My skin felt fresher and there was no significant difference between my T-zone and cheek areas: both seemed equally pleased. I would surely recommend Blithe Crystal Iceplant Pressed Serum to anyone who wants a multifunctional product that will strengthen their skin and has a hard time finding products suitable for super sensitive skin. The 50ml should last you 2-3 months of consistent use, but beware: you may need another jar as soon as possible as you won't want to be out these beauties ever again.
This is an exceptional product for those who:
The packaging is super cute and resistant, so you are free to drop it from your bathroom counter and nobody will be hurt (yes, I'm always dropping things and fancy jars always get me worried). Pair this beauty with Blithe splash masks and give this innovative and natural brand the chance to surprise you!
