Bye bye body acne !

Bye bye body acne !

How to get rid of back/chest acne ?

When we talk about acne, we usually think of all those pimples on our face. However, you can also have acne on your body.

You can have no acne on your face but still get acne on your back, shoulders, buttocks or chest.

Today, we're going to give you some solutions to get rid of your pimples so that you can enjoy the beautiful days like never before.

Who can get body acne?

Anyone can be affected by body acne:

  • In adolescence, acne on the face is sometimes accompanied by acne breakouts on the back and chest.
  • In adulthood, acne on the back can occur even if it has disappeared on the face. Men are the most affected. In some cases, acne occurs on the back and also on the chest.
  • In women, acne on the back can occur as a result of hormonal fluctuations such as pregnancy, taking a new pill, or the menopause.
Folliculitis, which is nicknamed fungal acne, also leads to pimples most often on the back or chest. However, this has nothing to do with hormonal acne. It is usually related to a fungus.

What causes acne in adults ?

The causes of back acne are the same in adults as in teenagers. The skin produces excess sebum or sebum that is too thick, which is hormonally caused, clogs the pores of the skin and traps dead skin cells. A bacterium, Propionibacterium acnes, then develops and causes skin inflammation.

What to avoid ?

First of all, you should avoid using grain-based scrubs on problem areas. Instead, use chemical scrubs (AHA/BHA/PHA). Indeed, the grains will damage your skin and stimulate the production of sebum.

The pimples will end up getting infected, which will encourage the appearance of other pimples ! The same goes for the horsehair glove and all mechanical scrubs.

Secondly, you should never touch your pimples, as this will leave scars and give you more pimples. They will also take longer to go away as they take their time.

Thirdly, avoid using pore-clogging shampoos! This will give you pimples unfortunately.

You should also avoid:

  • Tight clothing
  • Fragrances (perfume or laundry detergent)
  • Sulfates
  • Hot tubs

Our advice to help you to treat your acne !

Before you start anything, keep in mind that everyone is different and it takes time to heal your acne. Don't be disappointed if you don't see results immediately, for some of us it will take 1 month and for others 6 or more.

Stay motivated !!!

  • Change your T-shirt every day (to avoid "smothering" your back and keeping dirt and perspiration residues).
  • Clean your sheets regularly
  • Use a shower gel containing AHA/BHA/PHA to exfoliate your skin
  • Wash your body after washing your hair to avoid leaving shampoo or conditioner residue on your body and avoid clogging your pores
  • Use a moisturizing body lotion every day, preferably containing AHA/BHA/PHA.
  • You can use the same products you use on your face for your body.
  • Consume zinc.
  • If you have fungal acne, some doctors recommend using Head & Shoulders shampoo on the area where you have pimples and leave it on for 5 minutes before rinsing and washing your body as normal (if your skin doesn't respond well, stop using it).
  • Do not expose yourself to the sun, especially if you are using AHA/BHA/PHA (if you are going outside, wear sunscreen).
  • Detoxify your body from the inside
  • See a dermatologist.

Why detoxifying my body is important ?

At times, we experience allergies, permanent fatigue, joint pain, sleep disorders, difficult digestion or skin problems!

This is often the result of a rich diet, a polluted environment and a stressful lifestyle.

However, it is possible to remedy this: You just need to restart the body's natural detoxification.

This consists of evacuating toxins from our body by stimulating our purifying organs (emunctories) as a preventive or curative measure.

To maintain our health and restore energy, our body needs regular internal cleansing.

There are simple ways to do this, such as eating detoxifying foods and juices, using medicinal plants, massages, baths and relaxation.

The link between toxins and acne...

Acne can be the result of the elimination of some of the toxins by the skin. Concretely, if the skin has toxins to evacuate, it will do so in 2 ways:

  • Through the sebum, which will be more concentrated in toxins and therefore thicker and more viscous, which risks clogging the skin's pores and causing pimples.
  • By the sweat, which will be loaded with toxins and will therefore be more acidic. This acidity may alter the skin microbiota and create a breeding ground for acne.

This acidity can also alter the hydrolipidic film that protects the skin from external attacks. And therefore allow external toxins to penetrate the skin barrier more easily.
